Implement Go-Live Checklist

The implementation go live checklist ensures that the transition from old to new website is managed correctly and that all important aspects of the website go live process are addressed. A sample (not exhaustive) of checklist items for all projects includes ensuring that:

Current or proposed hosting solution can support the content management system, shopping cart and any other software to be implemented.
Upfront there are no internal client email implications to the website project on moving hosting.
Google analytics / web master tools are implemented to monitor web traffic.
Appropriate submissions of xml versions of the site map to MSN / Yahoo and Google.
Site is submitted and indexed by DMOZ.
A full site map is implemented and linked off home page.
All pages have appropriate optimised meta data and appropriate HTML coding.
Breadcrumb implemented on all site pages.
404 error handler is implemented.
Privacy settings on CMS are set to allow Google and search engine indexing.
All forms are functioning and submitting to the correct address.
301 redirects are set up on all old website pages to the appropriate pages on the new website to ensure no downtime while google is reindexing.
