Usability Testing

Usability testing is conducted on an existing website or a new website (before go live). The aim is to observe how potential website visitors interact with the site, so that our consultants can see potential problem areas. These areas can then be addressed in a site redesign or prior to the go live date. They issues might include ease of use, navigation problems, wireframe structural issues, missing or badly presented content, branding / imagery issues, lack of interactivity among others.

Inspiration typically observe and take notes while participants perform common set website tasks. Participants verbalise their thoughts out loud throughout the testing session. Participants for the testing are drawn from the target market profiles. The individual usability testing sessions would typically comprise:

1.pre-test questionnaire to qualify participants
2.usability study (observational ‘think aloud’ method)
3.post-test questionnaire : open questions to get wider opinions and preferences on different aspects of the website and their user experience.
